As the new year starts, we would like to once again announce a new programme to all those who have a drive to help the poor in Laos and in Viet Nam.

A holiday programme that includes your own tailor-made aid project, enabling you to contribute in an original way to the community.

You will work and live together with local people, while SCSI will arrange your accommodation from 1-3 days or longer, and help you develop your own project, contributing to improving the living conditions of the poor. It will be up to you to decide how much you wish to donate to the community. Besides learning about the local community and the culture, you will also learn a great deal about yourself!

The charitable internationa organization "Save the Children's Souls international" (SCSI) is a new generation NGO which specifies in development aid with the original idea of tailoring the donor's own project on site. With SCSI, your holiday will combine travelling in Viet Nam and Laos with helping in the local community. Donors carry out their own individual projects and monitor their own donations. In this way, donors add a new dimension to their holidays while enjoying the challenge of making a practical contribution to the future of underprivileged people.

This idea of combining a holiday with supporting poor people is entirely new and is, as yet, largely unknown. SCSI has identified tour agencies that are willing to support this concept and enter into partnership with us. This open acknowledgement of each donor's individual project, and of the financial contribution he/she makes, is extremely unusual and makes for transparency, which is especially important for SCSI. In addition, the enthusiasm that will go into projects designed by the donors themselves will be reflected in those projects, and will motivate and inspire donors of the future.

Examples:

The cow bank project

We select the local authority district in which the project of the cow bank is to be carried out. You and we together form a committee at local authority district level. There is a meeting between all the district members concerned, our employees, and yourselves, in which we discuss the stages of the project and solve possible problems. Furthermore, the participant's household is visited and an interview carried out in which the circumstances are analyzed, the cows bought and the results discussed with the project partners. At the end of this work, together with our colleagues you will carry out the handing over of the cows to the families, and this will mark the conclusion of the work you have done.
