In the second installment of "Life On The Siding", a road crew waits for a northbound BNSF mixed manifest train to pass. Once the BNSF train rolls by, the UP train will enter the mainline and proceed south to Portland, Oregon. From Portland, the train will head east to Union Pacific's Hinkle Yard near Hermiston, Oregon. After arriving at the Hinkle Yard, the train will rumble east towards its destination somewhere in America's heartland.

  • What's that brown or rust colored can on the front of the loco at the top of the steps? Is that always there?.....or did they leave something hanging from the hand rail?

  • @JetMechMA I think that was a broom that the crew had attached to the locomotive.
