  • I fear for society when people have trouble understanding a novel that is narrated by a nine-year old girl. If you cheated yourself out of reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" by watching this video, then you missed out on the book that spurred the civil rights movement, two years before Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech. Shame on you, eNotes, for making it even easier for kids not to pay attention to a damn thing but the texts on their phones or updating their Facebook status.

  • Thanks so much!

  • do you have videos of pride an prejudice

  • @aquajosh especially since she leaves out tons of details which makes it sound boring! which is so untrue!

  • @aquajosh The first time I read the book, the second time I watched the movie. So this time Im being more lazy and going over the notes. I don't have time to read the book again and I can't remember things very well. So I dont feel like reading the entire book just to find out about the trial and what happened. I rather just read the notes. Whatever I have to do to get an "A+".

  • @aquajosh I know sooner or later kids wont be even be reading and just be watching this video that miss the import parts of the book. Like at the end standing at the porch and seeing Boo Radly, I get if u watch for review for a test but to just to say u read. U should just read it. If u do it will change your life and point of view maybe!!!

  • @aquajosh why are you watching it then?

  • Hello. When you talk about the children being closer freinds with Miss Maudie and that she teaches scout about religion and life, do you say including being more accepting than Boo Radley? Thank you very much. This is a great video by the way: it is teaching me me lots and is helping me revise.

  • Now to write that essay :D

  • @charliegyrl maybe you should go to my school and see what the teachers expect there before saying that i am trying to avoid reading it. i was only given 2 weeks to read Macbeth last year. We are taught to write a web diagram and an intro and conclusion to an essay in 7 minutes. It also had to be "excellent" because that is how my school is its "achieving excellence" so don't tell me that I'm trying to avoid reading the novels when my teachers are tight asses and have high expectations

  • @aquajosh actually I read the book before watching this video, but thanks to enotes I can understand the story much more clearly
