What a terrific song! Decided to check out Mr. La Rue after reading some references to him in the Noel Coward diaries. As Coward noted, La Rue was incapable of bad taste and always left the audiences wanting a little bit more.

Great! I have always been a real fan. But what show is this from? It looks very like The Good Olde Days but the audience were always seated in theatre seats for that.Danny actually released this song as a single!

It was from a variety/quiz type show called 321 - where the theme was Music Hall. In the end section (which is where this comes from) the winning couple have to guess from a number of clues (which relate to prizes). The guests (Danny in this case) would come on and do a number etc and then read a clue.
