Ruby lips above the water, blowing bubbles soft and fine. But alas he was no swimmer, so he lost his Clementine.
Refrain
then the miner, forty niner, soon began to peak and pine. Though he oaghter, join his daughter, now he's with his Clementine.
That's the rest of the song, I sing it all the time :3

This is the song I remember singing in kindergarten/1st grade.

They forgot the part that actually would make it a kid's song!
"Now you Boy Scouts, there's a moral
To this little tale of mine -
Artificial respiration
Would have saved my Clementine."

i'm sorry, but... "kid's song"?! do people even listen to the lyrics?! this is a sad, funny, and romantic song, but it is NOT a "kid's song". just because a song is over 150 years old doesn't make it a "kid's song". would you want your child to listen to Blow the Candles Out? that's over a hundred years older than Clementine, yet it is still inappropriate for children.
