The GLBTA Leadership Award is intended to recognize the achievements of students, staff, faculty, alumni and/or community members from any University of Minnesota campus who exemplify outstanding leadership either within the campus GLBTA communities or within other communities, empowering and inspiring others to work for positive change on our campuses. Ideal candidates for the GLBTA Leadership Award should exhibit outstanding leadership in and/or service to the University of Minnesota GLBTA campus community and/or exhibit outstanding leadership in and/or service to other communities while bringing about awareness/education of GLBTA issues and identities within those communities. Ideal candidates should also exhibit a strong commitment to racial, economic, and social justice; exhibit the ability to balance multiple commitments in a healthy, sustainable manner; and have served the U of M GLBTA campus community for at least one full academic year (two consecutive semesters).
