I liked Jenifer Fox's book, too. She is so insightful with how to deal with kids. We spend so much time dwelling on how they do things wrong. Jenifer wants us to help them work on what they do right. Makes so much sense! You must read YOUR CHILD'S STRENGTHS.

Check out the work of Sir Ken Robinson - also a fascinating insight into how to harness the talents and joy of our children. A incredible insight from this amazing man!

Let me just add one more book to your reading list which may help you get unstuck. Your Child's Strengths by jenifer fox. It's not just for kids. Her book is very helpful for all ages but it is particularly helpful to parents. Give it a look.

I have a job that I hate to the bone, I think nothing makes me more unhappy than going to it each day, just has nothing to do with my profile and so far from my other skills or talents, but I have a family to support and can't get any better, I feel completely stucked and been that way for years.

I completely get your frustration - it can be so depleting to be in this situation. Sadly, you're not alone - we live in a deficit based world. Try reading Marcus's new book "GO Put Your Strengths To Work" - it's packed to the brim with ideas and tools for reoriantating your job towards your strengths and talents. Good luck!

Focus on increase strength rather than correct weakness. I think this is a good idea.
