  • Good point.Ganga mulugaleke means why should Ganga drown. Gangeyalli mulugaleke-why take a dip in the Ganga sounds accurate. There's ample scope to sing Gangeyalli without losing tala in case.Regardless of where it was performed the singing is soso. I think the artistes did not bring out the essence of Shuddha Dhanyasi at all but I grew up listening to Santanam's rendition which is perfect. Sudha did a great job too in a live recording I have of hers. By the way the chupu at 2.21 speaks volumes!

  • Actually the violinist didn't continue in Saveri. She thought the new ragam that Gayatri was singing was instead Hindolam. But yes, she did recover when Gayatri exposed more of the ragam to her.

  • really the alap is very good,at the end of the alap they really brought to the convincing that everything is because of sadhane

,may god bless them and too the listeners also.

  • this is some place in bangalore im sure

  • can we have the pleasure of all the songs in this concert . whether the concerned persons upload all the songs. thanks for uploading this

  • Agree with Gangeyalli making more sense than Ganga in Mulugaleke. These two strive to reach the same heights as MS, Maharajapuram Santhanam's renditions of this.

  • Thank you verymuch for this info! I have wrongly called them 'Nitya sisters' in my comment at your website1 mea culpa! ;ook forward to your response

  • I think the equivalent Hindustani raga is Gound Giri. Got the info from the internet

  • Again asI say it is the Bhava which either makes or kills a rendition! they have done well this too is one of my favourite Pada! I am usually a hindustani Vocal fanatic but I can listen to this all dayWhat is the analogus raga to Shuddha Dhanyasi in hindustani paddhati? any replies?

I like the MSS version and Sudha Raghunathan version too I am NOT so keen on Maharajapuram Santhanam's version! may be he is more grammatically correct but i am usually sold on Bhava!! The first shloka is MARVELLOUS!

  • May Lord Narayana Bless these sisters this is a excellent piece would like to hear all day thanks for posting can't wait to hear another concert

  • the song is really good but inbetween wen she is shifting to suddha dhanyasi ,vilonist touched dhivadaham and see the expression of gayatri

  • bhakti just flows
