there isnt a trick...its a step by step solution requiring different algorithms on different cases and solving the first two layers by intuition if you use the Fridrich method.

Well, I always solve with yellow on top. So that means blue, green, red, and orange are on the front and sides which leaves white on the bottom. Not that hard to memorize where 6 colors are on a cube ;-)

We didn't time him this time. Looking at the video though it took him 49 seconds to solve. I have seen him do it in less than 30 seconds though so hes pretty fast. And I still wouldn't call 49 seconds slow.
