  • Great footage man. Thks for posting

  • Will somebody PLEASE post the original studio version of this

  • No doubt about that. McCalla did a wonderful job for the years that he served with MMEB. I would listen to cover songs, love songs, opera, or whatnot if Chris Thompson was singing it. I consider him the best rock vocalist of all time. But that is merely my opinion. I am sure others would disagree. I just feel as if the MMEB songs retain much more of the original sound and feel if C.T. is behind the mic.

  • That's an interesting point you mention. I too first thought that McCalla is more into soul/funk/blues. But I think he has made his way since Chris left MMEB in early 99.

The concert of CT was more some kind of an evening with cover songs. Even the band covered a lot of the instrumental parts MMEB are playing live. I really felt disappointing about that. Even though it was pretty cool to see and hear Chris live again after 11 years.

  • I absolutely respect your opinion. To each his own, I suppose. I'm just not much on McCalla. He doesn't have that "rock vibe" that Thompson has. I love both MMEB and C.T., but if I had to choose to see one of the two, I would choose Thompson. He sings the songs with the orignial style, while MMEB has toned the songs down a bit these days. Noel is more fitting for a soul or blues group, not a progressive rock band. Thank you for the reply.

  • I really like Rogers but for me Flett sounds technically better. Unfortunately his musical career ended much too soon.

Some weeks ago I saw Chris Thompson live performing a solo concert with 12(!!) songs of Manfred Mann's Earth Band. He still does great but you can hear he's getting old. Therefore I like Noel more live. He is much more than half as strong as Chris if not stronger.

  • Yes he is great. Jim is a solid drummer. Plays tight and has many years of experience.

  • Mick Rogers is a very good guitarist. I think he's ten times better than Flett was. They always have and always will be one of the best bands around! I don't think Noel McCalla's voice is even half as strong as Chris Thompson's though. No one could ever replace someone like Thompson, though.

  • i was lucky enuff to see them in heidelburg germany in 1979

  • I'm sorry but this guitarist solo is not too good than"dave flett" or" stewe waller"in this song.
