Mike Berry sings the beautiful song "Loneliness", written by Joe Meek. originally the b-side to "Don't You Think It's Time" in 1963. As far as I know first time Mike has performed this on stage? Filmes live in Newent Community School Hall, Newent Gloucestershire, 3rd October 2009.

  • @cassandra1946 Mike was born 1942 but there is no mention of marriage or kids on his official website.

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW IF MIKE HAS ANY KIDS? I SEE HE IS WEARING A WEDDING RING BUT ALL THE INTERVIEWS I HAVE READ DO NOT TOUCH ON HIS PERSONAL LIFE. THANKS

  • LOVE THIS SONG, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT ALBUM ITS ON OR WHERE TO GET IT. THANKS

  • The song is the B side of Don't you think it's time - I have the original single.

  • WOW! Mike's Voice Sounds AWESOME! He Has Without Doubt Got Much Better As He's Got Older

  • What a wonderful voice he still has --- age 67 or 68 --- wow.

Would love to hear him do Chanson D’amour again (as a single) from the old AYBS? days as Mr. Spooner.

  • Thanks for this information. I will try to find this cd.

  • @davidtuckey Hi there, This is available on a cd Mike Berry Vol. 1 1961-1963 not sure if you will be able to pick a copy up now. On the spine of the cd it says Mike Berry - Complete Sixties Session Vol. 1 Rock-In-Beat RB 397. Not sure if this will be helpful at all.

  • I really like this song but I can't find it on any Mike Berry or Joe Meek compilation cd. Still, I can play it on youtube. Joe Meek wrote some really good melodies which is amazing as he couldn't play a musical instrument or write music notation. Berlioz never learnt to play an instrument but he could read and write music. I'm sure Joe Meek must have had some innate musical ability. I wonder what he would have achieved if he had learnt guitar or piano.

  • That's me on bass guitar - first time I'd worked with Mike, Alan and Mark - great gig and what a lovely bunch of guys! Alan Jones (ex The Shadows) is Mike's regular bass player (am now his dep etc)
