Quite possibly one of the most beautiful and graphically unique games ever made. Note the excellent use of bloom effects and motion blur as well as the lack of green (in outdoor environments, look at the plants) in order to create a sterile environment.

Mirror's Edge PC Game play with Nvidia PhysX enabled.

Graphics are at 1680x1050 with everything maxed out (except AA, normally I'd have 2xAA however i had to turn it off for the recording). Otherwise everything usually runs pretty well at around 40 to 60 fps. Audio is rendered in 5.1 surround (not sure if the youtube encoder will keep it that way though.)

With PhysX you get stuff like advanced particle rendering (shattered glass, dust, litter, etc) and fabric (curtains, flags, tarp, cloth, plastic, etc) physics. When PhysX is turned off the glass shatters, but doesn't leave behind shrapnel, there is no dust/litter, and cloth will either not tear, or disappear altogether. As far as i know physX only works with nvidia 8-series or higher video cards.

Computer specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 (OC to 2.8Ghz)
8GB DDR2/800 RAM
Nvidia 8800GT 512MB
Asus P5B-Deluxe/WiFi Motherboard
Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1

The song is of course, Shine - Alcorus (this version is acoustic, unlike the Lisa Miskovsky version, which actually has singing.)

  • i really wish i included footage from later in the game (the stuff in this video is really just from the first half.). Some of visuals and environments in later parts of the game are significantly different from the first half.

  • great hd, what did you film this in? 240p?

  • wonder if my pc can handel it

  • @someguywhocanfly does it burn more CPU? or no?

  • Why do you hang on the swinging bars before jumping? Doing it instantly keeps the flow a lot better and looks better for videos.

  • @ihos501

GTA is also a lot more taxing on the processor. Although, yeah, it is badly optimised anyway. Have you seen the latest graphics mods, though? That shit looks like real life, no joke.

It is good. If you want it on pc, it goes on sale on Steam occasionally. I picked it up for £3.50, which is about $5.

  • why can't GTA IV run like these games. fk rockstar for port GTA IV like shit.
