After completing the Forest Temple, you regain access to the Pedestal of Time so you can return to the past. Epona's Song is optional, but it is required to complete the Biggoron Sword Trading Quest, which is also optional.

What happens if you don't bother to save the game file after you've gotten far. Does it still automatically save everything for you anyway?

Ahh, the limitations of the N64. Awesome, isn't it? That's normal, and don't worry, your progress has indeed been saved. When you load your file again, you will either appear at the beginning of the dungeon, inside your house in Kokiri, or inside the Temple of Time.

Isn't it faster to roll instead of walking? I always do this and I find it more fast to walk, but I look stupid though
