  • "rocky mtn players", eh? ok, the playing seems very mechanical and by the score -- straight-up syncopated march time, and a couple ticks too fast. lamb's rags seem almost to beg for rubato, even coloratura. then again, i suppose you can get accustomed to just about anything.

  • Nearly a century later,-still magnificent!

  • ESTE ES PARA VOS DEDICADO AL ESPLENDIDO DIA DE HOY!.ABRAZO DE LG.

  • @Kirke182 you learn something new everyday thankyou :-)

  • That lead melody of the second strain was picked up by Jelly Roll Morton and turned into an early-jazz cliche.

  • Thanks for this one also. I have posted a response.

  • Back in his day, black ragtimers thought Joseph Lamb was black because of the complex, delicate melodies he created. Whites wrote ragtime in a lighter vein--Percy Wenrich kind of stuff. Lamb himself was quite pleased when Joplin told him his material sounded like " a regular Negro rag."

  • This a very beautiful rag. Joseph Lamb wrote very melodic rags. Difficult to play but when mastered they are wonderful. Thanks for your postings. I will enjoy your channel. Thanks.

  • This is so awesome! Thank you!
