Sally and her father return to Clydebank from London having failed in their attempt to persuade Lord Randall to change his mind about re-starting shipbuilding on the Clyde. On arrival they are met by excited crowds and find that Lord Randall has changed his mind. Gracie as Sally Fitzgerald sings 'Land Of Hope And Glory' as the finale of the film, superimposed over images of the launch of the Queen Elizabeth ocean liner.

  • It brings a tear to my eye to hear this and see how Britain used to take pride in their race and nation, nowadays all the traitors who run this country think about is foreigners

  • I am proud of this country in the fact that we can respect and tolerate everyone irrespective of their race or creed, live and let live.

  • I don't wish to sound like I'm thorwing a spanner in the works - but what on earth does this film have anything to do with the construction of the Queen Elizabeth? If it has been made about the stoppages which delayed the construction of the Queen Mary then I could understand.

  • It's called 'artistic licence', the film didn't set out to be historically accurate; it was just meant to cheer people up!! I only posted it for the historical content.

  • @leesmibert Maybe I did not reply to this message, but I am jealous that you met Gracie. Too bad good singers like her are gone and we have trash that pass off as so called singers.

  • @knight7fox2 How sad. You don't have your own nationality.

  • @calihartley2011

    My message begins thus, " I have been a fan of Gracie's for 50 years - - - - -"

  • @leesmibert I am sorry, I just do not see anything at all. Please send it to me as a message. The only thing I see with your name above your previous comment is my name and nothing after it.

  • @calihartley2010 I have commented about Gracie Fields above . Check it out under my name viz. Lee Smibert.

  • @leesmibert well i do not see any comment after my name. I would love to know what you intended to write. Please do.

  • I have been a fan of Gracie's for 50 years since I first listened to a 78 record of her singing Land of hope and Glory when I was 8 years old . I cried because it stirred me so much . I saw her in concert in 1965 in Melbourne Australia. Meeting her back stage has been a highlight in my life. I wrote to her and she answered all my letters. My 4 children and 3 g' children are also fans. God bless our Gracie.

  • @fattoler true and it is happening in America too. So Third world immigration must be stopped.

  • @gf1001 Dont' forget Vera Lynn. She too was a great Brit and I am from America. Sad to see that the Uk has become a hellhole for third world immigrants and is heading down the sewer.
