Before there was Angelina Jolie in Salt, there was Tamara Dobson as Cleopatra Jones. None of the so called mainstream black organizations - NAACP, ESSENCE AWARD, etc paid any tribute or recognition to this beautiful,talented and elegant woman (Tamara Dobson) who became the first black woman to star in a leading role in a major successful action film. As incredible as this is to believe, it speak volume to the short memory spanned black people suffer from. No black actress has duplicated her.

We're watching Cleopatra Jones pt 2 (Casino of Gold) right now. Today's the anniversary of her passing. She is gone but certainly not forgotten! RIP Tamara! Much love to you my sista!

it is sad....heard she had MS in 2000 and after 2 years was placed in a hospital, and died from pnumonia. She was very talented in designing her own clothes that she wore in the Cleopatra jones movies. RIP Tamera

Tamara Dobson was a beautiful honie and playing the dynamic sexy mama, Cleopatra Jones, she will remembered for blowing those who crossed Cleo and regretted it in the end.

before her brother dies , someone has to get the complete story from him on why Tamara disappeared from film making . She was a great talent that could have been a huge success , yet she vanished in the early 1980's .
