The Gravel road from the wonderful soundtrack the Village. Composed by the great James Newton Howard. Arranged by Joseph Rozell. A few years ago I posted a video of this stunning arrangement. But a LOT of people where asking me to change the camera angle and make a tutorial. In the first place I wasn't planning to do that because there are sheets already ( http://chuckmcknight.com/music.html )
But I changed my mind:-) Since there are a few people who I really like and they asked me to make a tutorial. So I am planning to make one ;) I'll hope this camera angle is clear. Is it possible to learn it already from this video? I think it is very hard to see. But if you (the people who like a tutorial) likes it then I will use this camera angle. If you think I should use a different angle please make a suggestion :-) Thanks a LOT!
And I have to thank Joseph Rozell again for making the sheets of this wonderful piece. Too bad he isn't active anymore. Although I messages him a few weeks ago and he told me: "It's been a while since I have done anything as far as arrangements but I think I should tackle something again for old times sake. " That would be great I think =D

  • that arrangment is just wrong with the rythm - the very first D is on beat 1 - a 16th note AND NOT BEFORE like it is on the arrangmenet (unless This Rozell-guy) have changed it - i just think i go with the original sheet as used in the original recordings of the film score -

  • @Marcatolegato wow, okay, now that was jealous-spoken, drenched with hate and covered with enviousness. why cant people out there just enjoy music, no matter if a 16th note is played at the wrong time o.O

  • @DasRL I totally agree with you. But the problem is Marcolegato doesn´t know the what a 16th note is he is just trying to act intellectual all the time. It is just to sad for words :-(

  • @Marcatolegato Hey it is you again! Again spelling rhythm wrong :S You are really stubborn. I really advice you to take music lessons or something like that. You are just jealous man on Rozell's skill and you keep coming back with your nonsense talk. Keep in mind that it is impossible to put all orchestra notes on 2 staffs. And that some things need to be adjust to play and fit on the piano. To get the best out of a piano. Rozell is a master in that and you are not! You are stupid and jealous!

  • so... where is the tutorial?

  • Awesome boxer !

  • @Marcatolegato This is a YOUTUBE guide, which probably is not intended for a pianist with 15 years of experience, and you complain about the rythm of one note?

Get back under the bridge you troll!

Grandioso!

    Saludos desde México =)

  • This is a fantastic arrangement, thank you for sharing it. While playing it, however, I felt it appropriate to add a B-flat 16th note in place of the 16th note rest that you wrote in the treble clef of bar 33, an octave above the two B-flats below middle C that precede and follow it. I believe that is how the melodic line moves in the score, but I may be wrong. Adding the B-flat certainly enhances the flow of that particular section, if nothing else. Great job!

  • You make me want to paly piano! You're so talented dude! Subscribed

  • I mean you're great. Well moving!
