"A Tale of Two Women: Crossing L.A.'s Grocery Divide" features two women--one who lives in a food desert, the other who lives in a neighborhood with full-service supermarkets--as they switch places. The video also highlights LAANE's effort to pass a citywide policy that will bring supermarkets to underserved communities.

  • Heart breaking. I'll do whatever I can to change this.

  • it cut me off. but ...

Another important thing to highlight are the local food producers and the farmer's market in our communities. They're not everywhere, but when they are it's important to let people know the importance and the impact they have on our communities. It's not always about big corporations but also about helping out our local economy. Think globally, live locally.

  • Great clip. I think it's also important to talk about economic accessibility. It's not just about bringing a Whole Foods or Trader Joes to our community but also have affordable prices for our gente. I've been to whole foods, and even though they have pretty healthy options, i can't always afford to shop there.
