@makeyourowndamnpie I completely agree w/ you it's so annoying. I cannot watch American films especially "black films" they are filled w/ awful stereotypical one dimensional characters. It annoys me because when I travel people see me and think I'm American. I have to say no I am from Canada. But as far as they are concerned we are all the same. It's frustrating, I hope that Hollywood evolves if not I hope more films are produced by ppl of African descent which showcase them in their own image.

When our sisters have the world under their feet it just touches the ground with love and full of fire.
They don't need to prove themselves with anything that needs to boost their beautie, because all things comes from the spirits in the sky.

Great going yall. The images of black women in the states are negative. The black movies that are produced on the big screen normally are about 'hood life', action comedies featuring one black star (99% of the time male) and one white star, or totally ghetto. I am sick and tired of the same ole boring/one-sided crap. Ninety percent of all black films on television are played by hip-hop type actors.
