It's interesting -- I really hate it when companies mess with the originals as much as this one is (while presenting it as the original, not a totally new concept) and I don't like this one because of it, but these dancers are so good and so well rehearsed that I find my self enjoying watching it in spite of it!

haha she's flagging
she is a beautiful dancer with wonderful technique but I agree that certain ballets must remain untouched... I am not nearly as offended by this as others seem to be though.

the result is an absolute mess.....sheer arrogance ......the good thing is how it just shows the timeless brilliance of Petipa......BOO to this BOO.....

I don't understand what the big deal is re-choreographing the rose adagio. There is no law that says we shouldn't....The classic will always be there, it gets old after a while. I praise the scottish ballet for being inovative.....

I agree that this choreography is sacrilegious and the traditional variation ought to have been adhered to. Thumbs down .
Re-choreographing the "Rose Adagio" in this way is sacrilege- I like modern ballet but not this - she is supposed to be pure not prancing around, legs akimbo suggesting she's a 'loose' woman! I am not a prude but I really don't like seeing her crotch as her partner flings her to the next partner.
I would love to see the whole ballet just to see what other variations have been changed and how, - I am curious - but this variation, no, I don't like it, but that's just my opinion; others may love it

I agree, I like what Scottish Ballet do in updating the classics, but some things, the Rose Adage being one of them, shouldnt be touched. I also think the choreography is really repetitive and not very interesting, much more could have been done with the music.
