This video is fun for entertainment purposes, but actually the Workers' Children's Fund has a most serious mission; The purpose of the Workers Childrens Fund is to improve the quality of life of foster children and other children at risk whose families are or have been under the supervision of the San Francisco Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Childrens Services. By raising funds and coordinating donations of goods, the WCF provides children with resources not available through DHS to meet the special needs of these children and their families. Most services are provided in the form of monetary grants for particular purposes, for specific children. Grants are offered to pay for services for children in any of the following areas: Lessons (i.e., music, martial arts, athletics, etc.); Programs for Enhancement of Self-esteem; Family Visits and/or Travel; Graduation-Related Costs; Summer Camp; and other Field Trips.

The WCF is a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status. We have no paid staff and all funds raised go directly to the youth we serve.

For more information including how to make a charitable donation, please visit http://www.workerschildrensfund.org including how to contact the office with specific questions.

We will try to make the Joe Biden Sarah Palin debate available for viewing at our Thursday night fundraiser at The South Beach Harbor Community Room at Pier 40, San Francisco 10/2/08 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm Pacific Time 10/02/2008 October 2, 2008
