Star Singer, known as Idea Star Singer for sponsorship reasons, is the popular Malayalam music reality-television competition, broadcast on the Malayalam TV channel, Asianet with Idea Cellular Limited. The show, being aired at 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m (IST), on Monday to Friday is a hunt for a talented singer in Kerala from the age group of 15-30 years, who can capture the hearts of millions with the unique combination of singing and entertainment.2009 has seen a change in the judges panel. The judging panel now comprises of playback singer K S Chithra, playback singer M G Sreekumar and Music Director Sharreth and a Celebrity guest changing in every few episodes. Like the past two years, Ranjini Haridas is anchoring the show.
