Hundreds of millions lost on bad hedging on fuel pricing, hundreds of millions lost in fines for the fuel price scam (Still paying those), he and board members awarding themselves free flights for life, whilst you and I pay for meals, the debacle of Terminal 5, thousands of pieces of BA travellers lost luggage being sent to Milan for buring, blackmailing the pilots against the cabin crew by not ratifying the pilots agreement if the cabin crew et all dont agree to BA's demands et al

To celticlots, oops Celticlofts who is attempting to make intelligent comments here. Might I add that I am in fact Irish. So let me get this right, Willie Walsh who is the CEO of BA, who earns a ridulous salary for the job and who is in charge of making the decisions relating to BA hasnt got it wrong and isnt at fault??? Ok, lets get clear. His "pefect board skills have cost the following: Have to go to a new comment...

An airline buster!!!!ha ha i think Airline buster = Frank Lorenzo!!!1 guy who makes Mr Walsh look like a rabbit....You would be pissed if you had that guy as your boss lol..
-
Thats a fair point too. Willies mandate from the Government was to get the airline in a position whereby they could sell it off, or a least a great portion of it. At the time Aer Lingus had way too many employees trying to make a living off to few aircraft, so he slim lined the operations and a lot of waste was eliminated. For the first time in its history Aer Lingus actually made money. He gave Aer Lingus a shot at a future.
-
Fair point, it was a struggling airline with huge debt...But remember didnt he and his cronies try and run it into the ground so he could take it over???Did he not fall out with Bernie ???Thing is celticlofts, once you outsource eveything the standards drop dramatically..esp your front line checkin....The way he is going it looks like BA will be a faded company in a couple of years....
-
While at Aer Lingus he tuned a loss making, money-hemorrhaging airline into a profit making enterprise. Staff hated him because they were too accustomed to the good life and he thought things should be otherwise. Had it not been for him Aer Lingus would be a fading memory now.
willie turned around AER LINGUS,and will do really well with t 5, given the chance!!!!
