  • Hey who is singing this song?

  • Phil Judd

  • really? awsome thanks, it just didn't really look like him at first (compared with sweet dreams and late last night), i take it thats another one of his wigs and typical Split Enz outfits and makeup

  • I think this clip was made before Judd started tearing his hair out. He had a compulsive disorder at the time which is linked to bi-polar.

Later, he shaved all his hair off just so he would stop tearing at it.

  • is now ..lmao

  • Ha ha, the beauty of saving things onto flv. format.

  • So FREAKING far ahead of their time, it's hard to fathom. Actually so unique, I'm not sure anyone caught up! 5 stars!

  • their album mental notes is amazing, these guys are major prog rock fans. this album is like my desert isle classic. a bit like family meets floyd. crazy good 30 odd yrs later. manzanera puked allover the nxt disc...2nd thoughts indeed. judd/finn combo per-fect on this 1.

  • Recorded in studio 8 at Avalon TV center for the TV One show 'Grunt machine. 1975. Probably one of the only music clips from the show remaining. Phil Judd wanted the camera to just follow him and kept walking outa light. His sync was pretty average too It was shot in 2 takes cos he started licking the lens 1st take. Tim did an awesome version of 'Amy and 'Stranger than fiction that day

  • Wow. Very cool! How old was Tim here?

  • One of the best things I have ever seen or heard.Didn't know it existed, only ever heard a live radio version on tape years ago and played it to death. Thank you for posting.

  • we'd sit in simons bedroom, smoking buddha and watching a burning plastic bag hanging from the ceiling dripping into a bucket of water - listening to mental notes - 1976.

  • If you listen carefully you can hear that phil dosen't actually sing but speaks

  • wow.. this is the only clip I've seen of ENZ with the line-up from the first album Mental Notes, including drummer (Paul) Emlyn Crowther ..

  • I just ADORE this version with Phil at the helm:much more mysterious, exotic and alluring than the first version with Tim on lead. The arrangement here is-IMHO-alot better than the Tim version too.

  • There's another version on The Beginning Of Enz, much better I think
