I instantly thought of Scotland Yard as well. Loved that game. I suppose there's a little hint of Master Labyrinth in there too - another fun Ravensburger game.
This seems like a cool channel and it makes me sad too, because it reminds me of a time before the crushing dominance of video games of that unique communal experience each Christmas time after first opening a new board game.

If it helps any, you only have to mark a few letters per turn, and the game is worth doing that for. It's the most requested game at several of my Meetup groups.
