The first step in replacing carpeted steps is to remove the old carpeting and the plywood steps and face boards. In this video segment, I show you just how to do that.

  • Great job! I'm almost finished with the dining room floor....removed all carpet & refinished the wood.....and now I'm ready to do the stairs. Very helpful video.

  • Correction that is an Estwing 12 oz. Double-Face Soft Hammer and a Stanley Xtreme Fubar Functional Utility Bar. They are both made to use with wood or metal that is stubborn without causing extreme damage to the material.

  • Thank you for the video! I had a hard time finding a how to that didn't show carpet covering already hardwood stairs.
