Handguns conceal very well in ankle holsters, but how well do they draw, and can you safely re-holster? In this video, I present the method I've worked out to carry my Glock 27 on my ankle (when I see fit), and the way I've practiced drawing and presenting it. I don't claim that this is the only way, or the best way, so please take from it only what you find useful, and feel free to leave the rest. Having said that, you should know that I've applied my Front Sight defensive handgun training and adapted it to create this method.

I don't believe that ankle carry is the ideal way to concealed carry your handgun, but if you spend some time and thoughtfully develop a method that works for you, while maintaining safety and eliminating wasteful movement, I think it can be a totally valid way to carry your primary, or your backup weapon.

The holster used in this video is the DeSantis Apache for Glock 26/27, and the calf strap is made by Galco. This pair makes a very good, comfortable, stable combination that I highly recommend for carrying your Glock 26/27 in the ankle position.

Big thanks to Ben from BladeHQ for his camera work and input on composing this video.

WARNING: This video contains graphic images of my hairy, white calf! LOL!

@Wilhelm Caldwell Totally agree. Ankle carry is ideal for that situation.

Great vid! I still feel its a tougher carry than iwb or owb. Meaning you couldn't draw on the move if (for example) you were taking rounds. Makes me think though. Thumbs up!

If a Goob looks around for other targets and there's no one there to see it, did he really look around?

we understand your training to "look around for other targets", but you look like a goob doing it in the middle of the desert

Nice job! If I were to carry during work,an ankle holster is the only option (shirts must be tucked in) because if a customer knew,it could be quite bad from a public relations standpoint for the company. As you demonstrated, where ever you carry on your body you have to practice drawing your weapon.
