@theband9000 taxonomy is universal. I believe parrots including macaws down to tiny budgies are under the same family. Their genus and species will be different.

The same family (Psittacidae) but different genders (Parrot -> Amazona ; Macaw -> Ara). This one in the video is the Ara Ararauna.

btw I hope you know this since it is your bird but Macaws are not parrots. They are their own different type of species.

Macaws are a type of parrot...they are part of the parrot family, according to everyone I've spoken to.

I am not sure for where you are located but in Canada we consider macaws their own family because there is so many different sorts.

It's true that there are many different sorts, but we still consider them parrots. The reason is because they contain all similar features. Curved strong beak, strong feet, intelligence, ability to copy voices...these are present in just about all species of parrot, including Macaws. That's why we consider them parrots.

that's funny. when my bird wants me to come, she'll start laughing more and more. if i still don't come, she'll even get hysterical until i come and play with her.

haha! my bird always wants my attention too, he'll start hanging upside down from 1 leg to get my attention. and starts laughing in a funny way.
