@AnywhereButHere09 so color really has nothing to do with how well the horse does and it doesn't mean greys are bad race horses paddy o prado is a grey that has done very well. He was a contender in the Kentucky derby in 2010 .

@AnywhereButHere09 depends on the level of racing, there are some cheap claimers that are successful and win, or allowance horses, greys are not a common color in the gene pool, the most common color of horses is chestnut, then bay. The most dominant color out of them would be bay, so if you have a bay and a chestnut bred the foal will 99.5% of the time be a bay. Greys are uncommon in thoroughbreds, you don't see a lot of them. However many Arabian horses hold the grey gene.
