Peak Moment 151: Biting into a fresh-baked cookie from "Baked in Telluride" is a double treat -- a yummy goody that also supports a local independent business. Owner Jerry Green has been going "green" for decades before it became fashionable, and is successfully facing the challenges of running an independent business in a tourist town while competing with bakeries thousands of miles away. While a town councilor, Jerry helped shape projects like affordable public housing and public transportation.

The bakery burned to the ground on Feb. 10, 2010. An article about the fire is at http://www.montrosepress.com/articles/2010/02/10/breaking_news/doc4b72f7a7932...

  • So sorry about the fire last night!

  • So sorry to hear that the place (Baked In Telluride) burned to the ground last night. Will be sorely missed (by me during the TBF). Please rebuild Jerry!

  • Yep, another AWESOME interview Janaia,...kudos to you for bringin' these interestin' vids to YT,.....hmm...now i see why my ol' boss(owner of a family-owned restaurant)would motor so far away to Telluride, well the beauty of the buildings, the alpine mountain scenery and the SKIING, were what made him go back year after year!!! Thanx again pretty lady and keep up them POSITIVE VIBES!

  • This is a great interview with a real person. I personally don't believe 'the t.v." figures of the rate of inflation, the so-called upturn with the recession and so on... new and tougher challenges surface daily. Green is fashionable... good statement. Although I (personally) welcome the greening of businesses but I do get weary of obvious 'we are so green!' statements from businesses and companies for the sake of looking virtuous. Ack. Do it because it's right, not fashoinable.

  • Another Ace video!! Love it Love it real people real situations living in reality

  • Kind of an awkward interview, but a good one. Looking forward to more.

  • Another great interview Janaia! We must support our local businesses... BTW, we love butter in our house, too ;)

  • I like the way this guy thinks: He thinks in terms of practical, clever, down-to-earth solutions to improve efficiency.
