@Bachmusikfestival Glenn Gould has a live recording that is noticeably faster than any other I have heard, including this. Not to say it really matters. This is very good.
When he plays those chords in the theme he manages to sound Bachian and Rachmaminoffian at the same time! The stability of Bach's music and the sharp sound of Rachmaninoff seem to be combined in such a unique way! And towards the end, those rapid scales - not only rapid, but brilliant with luminosity!

Yes I agree, some plays divined and some doesn't. Lipatti plays divined, and that's the interesting matter..
