Our grammar and spelling have gotten worse over time due to the reasoning that word check will correct it. When people are given pen and paper they make many errors in grammar and spelling that they don;t make when they type; meaning that we are not learning instead we are letting computers fix our mistakes. No one won that "debate" due to incorrect reasoning and lack of solid evidence. I am of this generation and I agree that we are not as intelligent as the previous generation.

Feldman's argument can be summed up to "we filter info better" I think he said it 5 times.

Apologies for the double post:
Edit: "...I disagree with Dr. Bauerlein."

I learned about this book while researching content for a digital citizenship webinar, and I have to say that I disagree with Dr. Bauerlein's. I believe his basic assumptions are deeply flawed. The evident assumptions are that university models of education are superior, and that knowledge recall is the best metric of intelligence. These assumptions are contradicted by current, Psychology/Physiology informed pedagogy. He also completely ignores information literacy. (dis: < 30 Educator)

@BreakingHeart14 Tl;dr Bauerlein's studies not accurate. Feldman sucks need new candidate.

Feldman's points prove to be invalid, being from the "Dumbest Generation" the only point I agree with Bauerlein on is the fact that the older people from our generation has lost maturity over the years. However, due to that it has caused the teenagers, claimed to have only been interested in matters of other teenager, to mature quite rapidly. Due to that I'd also like to say that Bauerlein's claims are based on over-generalizations, Not all teenagers, such as myself, are subject to such matters.
