  • @carystrings

I agree, but let consider he was not young anymore and i can imagine the desire to record again the Bach masterpiece again, (but guess Chaconne was the first time ). Yes, strange recording for Bream's target that one.

  • @jabba987654321 I understand your point, but i believe what you said is not true. Both Williams and Bream are excellent guitarists. Bream amazingly performed lots of Bach pieces, and John Williams did the same, playing spanish ones.

  • Qué interesante; yo sólo tengo una versión en clave de este Allegro tocado por Michele Barchi, y más que Allegro parece Presto! Pero esta interpretación es hermosa.

  • john wiliams is better :P :P.. but just at bach.. john wiliams is too academic to play spanish i think

but bream hes genius no way

  • I have this CD. The echo in the recording is very distracting...I don't enjoy this one. Mr. Bream has done so many great things over the years...this simply isn't one of them.

The performance of BWV 1006a on this disc is very stiff and formal...doesn't have the warmth and personality we associate with Bream.

  • @zepdrix I agree with you, and the respect I have for Mr. Breams ability and talent makes me wonder if this recording is really him at all. This is YouTube after all, I could hack this recording and put myself in the video. Not a bad performance, I just don't think it's him. Compare it to the other vid (10:42) that actually shows him performing this piece and the tempo is much different. I don't see Mr. Bream playing the same piece two different ways.

  • Man, this is the best version i've ever heard.

You should sit through the live recording of BWV 998 by Bream...see what happens. Best wishes

  • are you joking?
