@beardieandme Their skin doesn't get impacted... Impaction is a blocked digestive tract, which can happen if a bearded dragon ingests too much sand/substrate.

dont use sand my bearded dragon died because of sand. first of all they can ingest it. second of all it can cause impaction of the skin. when there babies use paper towels or eco carpet when they get older they can digest sand better. vita sand would work when ther older. besides thet nice setup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many inches would you say a tank needs to be?

@make1me1a1sanwich it depends on the size of your beardy, but seeing as they grow quickly I would say for sure nothing smaller than a 40 gallon tank. As far as actual dimensions go I'm not sure what that measures out too. The enclosure mine lives in now (not shown in the video) is 2 feet deep, by 2 feet high, by 4 feet long. And some people argue that that's not even big enough.

how much is a full setup for an adualt bearded dragon setup?
tallfishman100 5 months ago
@tallfishman100 it depends on a lot of things. the most expensive piece is the aquarium itself, if you get a glass one it could be anywhere from 30 - 270 bucks (depending on it's size). you'll need a day lamp, night lamp, and a UV lamp, which can cost 7-12 bucks a piece, and they eat a lot. when they'll older the majority of their diet can be vegetation, but the young ones need lots and lots of crickets/mealworms, ext. They're cool to have but yes they can get expensive.
