Prophesy is religious lunacy. Mankind always had the ability to FORESEE future events, countless instances are known, from the ancient Celts down to the 1950's, when prediction (of oncoming deaths, calamities) became strangled by modern media, radio and TV. So don't give out that nonsense about 'prophesy'.
