Remembering Abhijit Mahato

it's sad to think that carson's life is made to be more important than mahato's life from the media coverage. carson's death could have been prevented if they gave equal investigative treatment to mahato since the same guy killed both of them

It had more to do with her being a pretty blond woman than anything. News covers whatever sells, if Mahato had been a doctoral white student he would have been covered the same. Keep in mind that major news didn't cover the death and rape of Channon Christian. News organizations are fickle and stupid but would it have helped in the assailants capture? He got caught because he killed again, only this time he was squealed out and the police had pictures of his face.

I think that the most ridiculous thing is that we would rather hear about the death of a pretty blond student than an accomplished doctoral student, regardless of race. The news only reports what people would most like to hear and they are good at it. It saddens me that we lost another great brain, we have so few.
