Hi there!
Another EDSer overhere. You say in the video that a fusion surgery would make unable to walk. Now of course I don't know what's going on exactly with you ankle, but most of the time they fuse only part of the ankle and the loss of mobility shouldn't bother you when you walk. Even if they'd fuse all the ankle bones, there are orthopedic shoes that can help you walk. Walking around on a permanently dislocated ankle to me seems more difficult and painful than having it fused.

My thumb splints are exactly the same...maybe I should ask for my OT to make my wrist one the same since my wrist doesn't really fit in standard braces.
I hear ya on the getting overheated thing.
Oh and my docs knock me out at night too :)

Sigh... And I thought I was the only one that falls apart in my sleep! Every morning I put my ankles back in place, and then my shoulders once I'm sitting up... then eventually I realize my wrists don't feel right... It keeps going and going. I'm just wondering how you deal with your wrists and using a walker/cane. Mine are progressively getting worse since I've had to use crutches. They used to only dislocate once a day! Oh, and I also have a psych degree (from another video).
