( Use You Tube's Quicklist function to string together the 3 parts of this 22 minute jam )
In this rare audio, Jimi jams with members of Traffic ( featuring Steve Winwood on keys, Chris Wood on flute plus others ). I dunno mo info, but it's a session tape called "Traffic Jam " from around the time of Electric Ladyland.

  • I, think its a good chance that Is Steve on Guitar in the Beginning, it sounds like His style w/ the Thunderbird . Who knows if this was overdubbed or ? Later the guitar, Does sound more Jimi Chris Wood and all of Traffic were great Musicians..And Steve is a Consumate Guitar player as Clapton brought Him on Tour for the last four years ...Clapton was scared sh------ less of Hendrix by the way... back then.

  • @DYNODRUM

it would be nice to know more about these sessions, some cult rock zine should ask Winwood. That could be Jimi adapting into the Traffic style.

(See many live Traffic cuts in my channel, over 100 playlists too...... )

  • Awesome....Wish I could find a reliable source from when Hendrix jammed with Soft Machine or Clapton..All apparently happened more than once but no one bloody well recorded it.

    Cool channel,btw

  • @DYNODRUM Clapton was actually very good friends with jimi and would jam with him whenever they could according to his book. Listening to Cream jams from before and after hendrix went to europe, I think Eric had nothing to fear from jimi, they were both musical equals at the time in my opinion. Jimi was more of a leader at the time, but Eric had much better musicians playing with him.

  • BRO i have this same jam uploaded on my channel hahaha

  • @DYNODRUM Apparently clapton was also one of jimi's closer friends around the time jimi would hang around near a cream gig, because they were often seen together.

  • @DYNODRUM the first guitar is in fact jimi.....

  • good stuff man; luv finding rare jimi gold nuggets keep up the god work & keep this on youtube please :-))

  • @JimmyPage97 I found a link of an alleged recording of Hendrix and Clapton..I ignored it...If such a recording existed,EVERYBODY would know about it..it must be BS...I don't know if Winwood played on If 6 was 9 but he did play a little on Electric Ladyland and Cry Of Love :)

  • yeh clapton and hendrix were aledgedly like awsome friends...no records :(

That flute sounds awsome. I wonder if winwood played like at the end of if 6 was a 9 on electric ladyland. Sounds so similar

  • Very cool! Thanks for the upload!
