Mark Strong is such a great actor. George Clooney is too. But, let's face it, Jack Bauer would've annihilated everyone in that room within five seconds of being captured and then he would've interrogated Strong's character and uncovered some whacky plot Hezbollah was planning and gone off to save the day...

I like this film - it shows sad and bitter truth in our political life. George Clooney always showed one and the same typical acting but Finally he looked great and not monotonous. But I still think that he didn't deserve the Oscar - just because he showed nice serious acting (for the first time by the way) doesn't mean that they should give him the Oscar. Academics and critics are as corrupted as politicians. Sad, very sad but I still love this film very much

@Magnolia296 I beg to differ, Cloony might seem like the same guy in every movie. But Its not just about making a character who is believable. Its about taking command of the screen and george cloony always had the positive, charismatic presence in his films. But in Syriana, he took the role of a veteran CIA agent very well. He showed how the hypocrisy of the government took a hold of his life and how he can never really leave the job without feeling expendable. George's performance was great.
