With :27 remaining in a meaningless regular season game between two original six NHL teams, NHL referee Brian Pochmara whistles a baffling penalty shot. BitchPLEEZE !!!!
No penalty should've been called. There was nothing there. I think refs around the league have been taking HUGE liberties with the penalty shot rules, and they've been instructed to call them more often. These days, if a player has a breakaway, even simply touching your stick on the breaking player results in a penalty. Bullshit.
I'm not looking at it with this video, I have seen it on different video's and live. He caught him on the gloves, then maybe between his two hands on the stick, but he does get the gloves.I have to admit though, your the first I've heard say he never even touched the hands, I keep hearing it wasn't enough contact and/or he got the stick first, but again it had to do with the fans wanting to see more penalty shots, Its a hard one to take, but an easy one to get, but again consistent
Actually I can't even see anywhere he even catches the stick. But he might get him a little on the stick, but he does catch the gloves. Which had been called all year long for every team. Any contact what so ever on a break away its a penalty shot. it was weak, but it was consistent.
the problem is its the same call that was talked about at the start of the season, the same one called the entire season. the fans wanted to see more penalty shots, so the NHL told their refs to call anything close. This is close enough, contact was made to the hands with the stick and the call was made.
Jb200016 people like you are the reason the NHL is for pussies go watch an old NHL game he tapped him on the back of the legs oh so you're trying to make this basketball now?! No thanks
this has happened in 2 seperate games this year both game only about a week apart. i swear these refs are getting worse and worse every year

@Kartkid024 This is a terrible angle to watch, find a new video and you'll see he never touches the gloves.

@Kartkid024 No, there was absolutely no reason to make a call. It was stick to stick contact, none made on the hands. Perfectly legal.
