I found this song hard to master playing slowly. I'm addicted to the flow, and I feel that I might need more notes to play on my left hand in order to slow myself down.

I tried many versions (i.e. they sound different). This is one I'm satisfied with. I hope you enjoy this arrangement.

Turns out we had to use an older camera for now. Apologies for video quality.

  • Watch for your pedal, though. There's are some parts where a pause WITHOUT pedal would have been beneficial. If you listen in, the pedal butchers certain parts of the song. For example, without selective minimal use of the pedal, the alto solo part (2:10 to 2:25) would have created a quite STRONG, DECISIVE tone, emphasizing the tone colour much more than it would be with pedal dragged through.

Watch for dynamics as well. Some parts should have gotten louder over time.

    Loved it, though. (:

  • @Lyouire I appreciate your advice. You know your Kajiura way better than I do then (and music theory)!

LOL, I wasn't decisive at all at any point: "How should I play the next part" was constantly ringing in my head as I played this. Definitely did not practice enough and you caught it all too well.

*sigh* - will I expect to hear your rendition anytime soon?

either that or I accept your challenge for a remake.

  • Amazing! I see you don't have sheet music but could you tell me what key the piece is in. I doubt I will be able to make much progress at trying to play it by ear myself, but I do like to try XD!

  • @kyokat - I played this piece in G# (Ab) minor. I'll start you guys off. RH: Ab, Bb, B, Eb, B, C#, Bb

  • you are so good! :) do you have the sheet music please? :)

  • @ultacatlover - sorry, I played this by ear. I'll try writing a sheet music for this, but no guarantee of posting it anytime soon, nor it will be the same as my recorded version (but it will be revised and improved).

  • I have the words stuck in my head

  • that was...great.

Do you have the music sheet? SHARE?? Please? pweeze?

  • @slimxdi You're welcome to any praise you get thrown at you! I really think you did a brilliant job regardless any flaws you might have made, and I'm not just saying that to make you feel good- you did a REALLY great job of picking out the song by ear and performing it!

Myself, I'm classically trained and I've only just started to mess around with Pop music. I'm almost 100% sure that I'm not ready for Pop music with such a demanding beat.

Mhm, I would absolutely LOVE it if you do a remake! :D

  • Oh my gosh, I love your playing style! The music goes on and on, but's it's not jagged or sharp at at!

Your playing technique really conveys the flow you're feeling, and I find it easy to describe it as a pendulum feeling the grief and strife lying dormant in the piece of the music.

    I absolutely love it!

  • Another great song awesome job

  • This is wonderful! I've been wanting to play this song lately, and you've definitely inspired me. I can't wait to hear more! :-)

  • you are amazing! ^^

  • This is one of my favorite song of all time by Yuki Kajiura and you played it wonderfully beautiful. I was actually searching for this song being play on a violin but accidentally came across this beautiful piece you did on the piano.
