  • Yes...that's right : He is the One ! Glory to Him ! I like the way Kool constantly plays this metallic tapping sounds on his Steinberger bass with effects, you know that "DZING DZING" you hear regularly ... and what about Fitz and his synthesizer solos...

N.B. : the group, nowadays, has almost nothing to do with the line-up you see on this picture...about half the members appearing here have left long ago(among whom two -I believe- have passed...) except Kool,of course, his bro,and 2or3 others

  • @VintageSoundsNumber1 Cool reactions :D

  • I really wish I lived in the 80's, all I listen to is old school music, listening to bands like Kool and the Gang just makes you feel alive every day.

  • Its better than the a side but it was on the album anyway! Lazy cannot be bothered to do b sides not from the album and make people pay more for what they already have. MJ and Diana Ross were culprits of that as well.

  • @VintageSoundsNumber1 Yes man you got it ! Glory to the One, Audient and Omniscient ! One of my favorite song from Jazz-Funk Masters! Great bass line and such an amazing dialogue between Sax (with some Coltrane's flavor) and Synthesizer.

About the band: all members appearing here are still in the band today, except for 2 of them: Charles Smith (guitar) and Robert Spike Mickens (trumpet) . They died . R.I.P Mister Smith. R.I.P Mister Mickens. May the One bless you.

    Peace and Understanding

  • I close my eyes;...I am back in New-York City, ...no, it's not 2010, it's 1984... , there are graffs covering trains everywhere in the subway, my black people still sport dripping wet Jehry curls, and wearing threads that rock; and the city is still "hot", dangerous and fun... as soon as the song is over, I open my eyes and am back in the dull 2010 ...

  • gr8 song. I luv the LP version...
