A leading artist demonstrates Club Custom drums in this video interview.

A few years ago during the development of the Club Custom series, I was having trouble deciding on a color scheme for the prototype that they were making for a performance. Then one day while visiting a café with one of the Yamaha staff, there I saw it; the color used on the wall, THIS IS IT I thought. I pointed to the wall and said "Hey, that's exactly what I want for the drum." It took a number of tries before the staff at Yamaha could bring it to fruition, but this was the origin of the "Swirl" finish.

  • Jesus Christ, Steve Jordan doesn't even need a band. His drumming speaks! It's great! I love the sound of his tons. God bless this man!

  • @Monsterdrumma Mahogany is indeed cheap, crap wood. I am speaking of Philippine Mahogany–not to be confused with African mahogany. or Sapelle. PM is what has been used in low line import drums. The Gretsch club's are indeed cool looking, but they are built using $2 shells. Listen to the boom and decay of these Yamahas... You can get that resonance from Philippine mahogany. Sorry Monster.

  • ...and I'm very excited about it. Tst.

  • i bet that if you give this kit to terry debozzio he's not able to do even half of what this man does with it. Awesome drummer Steve..

  • @nofkyugimmeaname

    no, I don't think so

  • i love the steve jordan! love the orange kit color. not so much the tom sounds. to tight n high fer my liking. but hey thats why they put erasers on the lawnmower.

  • This is just me talking here, but I'm not a fan of his signature snare. Too dry for my taste!

  • simple but insane groove! Fuck all that solo and licks every 5 seconds. Keep it simple and in the pocket!

  • @toddy1968 I have Yamaha DPs and youre damn right. The kit is old and raggedy, but its like wine

  • Nerds have Chuck Norris, drummers have Steve Jordan!

  • Why do his tom always sound the same? No one can copy his sound.

  • Fuck it im taking up the drums and this guy is my idol !

If i ever play one one hundredth as good as him i will die a happy man.
