There's a lot to be proud of here at Virginia Commonwealth University, and you can see it and feel around campus, around town and beyond. Sure, we're a young university in the big scheme of things, having been formed in 1968 as a result of the merger between the Richmond Professional Institute and the Medical College of Virginia. But since then, weve risen to national and international prominence, because of our world-class facilities, distinguished faculty, diverse student body and proven success in preparing its forward-thinking students for the ever-changing climate and demands of the new world.
