if I had a time machine maybe I could go back in time and save Anita from a lot of heartache and drug problems that came along later. probably not. I would have probably been in the marines and gotten killed at Iwo. she couldn't have been saved from her fate anyway. she had a good second husband ( according to her book ) and he couldn't do it. she was just destructive. kind of like Linsay lohann is now. some things and people cannot be changed. well at least she lived a long life.

@fran9860 you don't know what you are talking about. was several years later she got hooked on heroin. but even then she was always a profesional in her performance. you couldn't tell she was high, if she was.

@joenatescott The more I learn about these legendary artists the more I realize that in spite of their enormously gifted talents they were human with many of the same problems people still have today (and probably always will have). You'll have to read Anita's book to get a feel of her views on Krupa, Kenton and others. She really bad mouthed Benny Goodman. I have a soft spot in my heart for Anita; she left home at 14 with nothing, nowhere to go & no one to help her. She did good!

This is what Jose Fritz said about what a Boogie Ride is:
"A boogie is a simple guitar structure: the B and C are played by stretching the fourth finger from the A2 and A3 frets up to B and C on the same string. All true boogie patterns are played with a swing or shuffle rhythm. In the early part of the century the term boogie meant rent-party. Its an ancient American tradition of musicians passing the hat at house parties events to pay the rent.
