Kool Moe Dee Interview

We were fortunate enough to speak with legendary mc Kool Moe Dee outside the press room of the VH1 Hip Hop Honors.

Kool Moe Dee is one of the key figures in hip-hop history. He is perhaps most widely known for his battles with busy bee and ll cool j. Moe Dee is also an innovator of MC'ing, credited with developing the speed rap style that can be heard on Treacherous Three's "New Rap Language" which would forever change hip-hop.

Kool Moe Dee also became one of the first to publicly engage in the act of ranking rappers, which is practically the 5th element of hip-hop. His MC report card broke down mc's in different categories (the otherwise panned Beastie Boys would boast on Intergalactic that they "got an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes"). More recently he turned a similarly systematic approach into a book called "There's a God on the Mic".

20 years later and he still wearing them star trek shades...guess the only way anybody will recognize him is by his gimmick to wear ridiculous looking shades. My initial guess would be between Kool Mo Dee, Aaron Hall, or Wesley Snipes on swole.
