  • Is this the Japanese one or American-English one?

  • Japanese.

  • The second to last song sounded like it was a combo of Metal Slug and Zelda.

Also, wasn't this game the one with Sonic Boom? It should been in the video.

  • Video #109.

  • Is it my idea of you already made a video of this one?

I think it's the same game, although you picked different songs.

  • I made a video for the US version, this is the JP one.

  • I never understood why there was such a huge outcry against the US soundtrack until now. Still, the US one i believe holds its own pretty well.

  • in Sonic Gems collection PAL we were given the US soundtrack which isn't fair as we original had the Japanese soundtrack

  • How many times is this guy gonna forget that the spin dash has to charge up? Use the fucking peel out!

  • The gameplay for Zone 1 made me want to claw my eyes out.

  • Not that I hate it, but I wonder why so many like this one over the U.S. one. Doesn't seem anywhere near as catchy.

  • THere is a house music song on the american version of this that I have searched for since like 2002! Can you help? So appreciated! It still sounds marvelous today...at least in my head! LOL!!!

  • Both are good, but when I discovered the Japanese soundtrack, I couldn't go back. It truly captures the essence of Sonic music: cool, catchy, dynamic, vibrant, and a little on the zany side.

The US soundtrack seemed too moody and atmospheric in most parts, and lacked consistently catchy melodies to really stick to memory. Not to mention that they left the Past themes intact in the US version, which were remixes of the Present JP BGM. So the consistency in sound was shot as well.

  • Awesome game, not so good music

  • Japs are good at math, videogames, and flying airplanes into ships and buildings.

  • @esperlutz The US soundtrack is great. The problem is that the Japanese soundtrack is one of the best game soundtracks of all time. It's unfortunate that they decided to replace it by region, and at the same time unfortunate that the US soundtrack couldn't have graced another game, so that we could appreciate both.

  • FANTASTIC animation in the beginning! I remember when I got the Sega CD system...only like 2 games that were good for it.

  • I like the soundtrack sooo much more!
