American's don't understand the fact that China and America are VERY different. American's talk about "no freedom of speech" etc, if that were in America not good, but China that is very good. If China has same laws and concepts and culture as America, China will fall.
Perhaps Americans should read more about the East Asian culture: which values respect far more than personal freedom. It is really not a bad thing, but perhaps the culture clash is so great that some see it as bad.
funny the reporter keeps on trying to get the dood to say some bad about china.. she knows and understands nothing outside of the world that she lived in -.-
The thing that one is worried about is: Is china's rise going to be peaceful or will it threaten world peace? China is not a status quo power. It seeks to alter the geopolitical situation. It has taken over Tibet by force, claims part of India as its own and so on. So, China's growth is being viewed with a lot of trepidation in the neighbourhood. Only time will tell if it is good or bad.
china took tibet by force? america was taken by force LOL claims a part of india as their own? that part was china's way before the PRC even before India was just a part of British Empire. the US has armies all over the world, never stopped waging war since WW2 >_>
The world isn't black and white, there's always alot of gray involved. China's rise won't be completely peaceful because no nation's birth or rise to power can be done without struggle, setbacks, or hardships. But, in my opinion from the time I've spent living in China and judging by it's rich hisotry China's rise ot power will be relatively peaceful compared to most western imperial power's rise to power.
