i own a border collie but mines mixed with elkhound and her paws are white and her stomach area is white rest of her body is black :-)

I couldn't get my border collie to swim. I had a 1/2 spaniel 1/2 border collie that used to swim really well though.

I heard that the product we put in our pools are bad for their fur.. is this true? =/
I'am just asking because I would love to bring my dog swiming with me, but if it is not recommended, don't want to take useless risk.
or is there a certain product that do noting wrong on them?

@oly355 - I don't know, its not my pool. But the pool owner's dogs swim regularly and they look fine to me.
