On our way to the PEAK in Swaziland from Kruger National Park we stopped at a roadside vegetable garden where the folks were taking a rest. After offering them a loaf of delicious Swazi bread we had just purchased, a lady stopped by to ask for a donation of food for the orphans. In talking with her, we found out that a little schoolhouse was built there by an English women in 2004, but since the lady left Swaziland in 2006, the school has had very little financial support. We followed her to the school to see for ourselves, since we are volunteers from worldwide orphanages.com, and wanted to find out how we could help. OMG, the school supplies are extremely slim. There are no more teaching supplies, crayons, etc. We also followed her to her home to find NOTHING except a few grains of mealy meal left for her six children. Yes, we shopped for her family, paid the old electric bill that was scheduled to be shut off that day!, and later returned with a few school supplies (horribly expensive in So. Africa and no selection!), but Beauty, the teacher really needs someone to help her keep the school going. Please read more about her at www.worldwideorphanages.com or contact her directly at btmhlanga036@gmail.com She doesn't get to email often, but what a thrill it would be for her to hear from you!
